Santorini has hotels large
and small, inns, rooms for rent, camp sites and youth hostels. The
largest hotels, with
or without swimming-pool, have, depending on their class, the same
amenities to be found in hotels all
over Greece. The smaller hotels tend
to be more austere, cheap, built for those visitors who expect
to spend most of the day out-side, and who are concerned on their
return only to shower and sleep. The rented rooms are more
picturesque: in this way one gets a chance to live in a typical
Santorini house and become acquainted with the people at close
quarters. The last of these factors is not one to be
overlooked.
